Donations

The Ransom County Museum (Museum Photos) has a lot of potential but also needs a lot of work. There are several building making up the museum, a one room school house, a flour mill, old picturesque barn, a general store building and the mill owner's residence. All of the buildings are in the need of major repairs. We are in the process of restoring the residence, and turning it into a bed and breakfast. The community and county has a small population base to tap for financial donations. So, it might take a number of years to finish all the restoration necessary and turn into a first class museum. We are actively soliciting donations to expedite the restoration. (See The T. J. Walker Project) Can you help us reach these goals? Any donation will be very greatly appreciated. Any donation is appreciated, whether it is monetary or volunteer work. Perhaps you would like to become a member of the Ransom County Historical Society? (Membership)

Memorials

Recently, we were asked by an area resident whether the Historical Society accepts memorials. A memorial made to an organization dedicated to collecting and sharing memories is an excellent way to remember a loved one.

Please keep in mind that we need to have matching funds for any grant we apply for. Anything we can put toward the project may be matched by a grant.
If this is a project you want to help with, now is the time to do it! The repairs we are asking funds for need to be completed as soon as possible; this first phase is to stabilize the buildings and preserve the collection. It will cost more than a grant alone can cover. We desperately need your help.
